So I've been meaning to post about my savage chopper rebuild for a while, but just haven't gotten around to it. It's been a while since I've been up on this board, well posted at least - I've still been checking in from time to time - nice to see most of the regulars are still here.
Anyway, so here's what I got going on. I'm taking my 1987 Savage and chopping/rebuilding it from the ground up. Chopping/cutting the frame and welding on a hardtail section (with 6" of stretch in the back), chain conversion, ribbed mustang gas tank, custom fabbed exhaust, sprung solo seat, custom fabbed fake oil bag/battery box to hold all the electronics, trailer fender in the back (or maybe a ribbed fender if I can get one cheap) and I haven't decided if I'm running a front fender or not. I got a couple other things too, but those are the big mods.
The bike is down with the welder right now (
www.tanksbytigman.com) and we'll be starting the chopping in January. I'll be down there filming and taking photos of the whole thing, which I'll be sure to share with all you guys once I post them. For the time being, here's a pic of good ole girl right before I sent her down to get hacked up
