MPG initial break in period..... (Read 3 times)

Reply #1 - 12/24/06 at 07:57:56 On mine with stock exhaust, stock jets, and less than 1000 miles I got 48mpg. It got better as the motor loosened up. Now with the Jardine muffler,155 main and 55 pilot jets and 3000 miles she gets 50-55. It depends on how crazy I get with L-VIRA.

I got 50 & slightly better during break in for a couple reasons. I wasn't wringing it out because I was breaking it in according to the book. Also, since I hadn't been riding in about 25 years I wasn't comfortable riding hard. Oh yea, reason #3, the rear tire slipped around like it was covered in wet snot so riding like a moron wasn't happnin! Once, I got about 58 when I was just cruisin around.
