Hey gang! Finally got my engine back in (well, 2 months ago), the bike rewired, and everything is happy!

Vroomette made

me get new bars instead of the drag bar I was running... to hard on my upper back... So here are some pics (sorry Perry, nothing TOO saucy!)...

yeah, I'm not the best photographer (sorry greg!)... my camera no longer focuses, and the zoom feature is broken...
So the apes are about 8" tall, and they put my hands right at my shoulders... very easy steering... stock length cables, too, but I had to route them carefully. I still need to adjust the throttle cable a little, as when I turn the bars all the way to the right, it opens the throttle a bit...
Next pic:

Anyway, You can see my new starter button right above the lead on the battery! Fun! I've only belted myself once so far... You can also see the braket I made for the clutch perch... the stock one, which was part of the case, broke off when the engine came out (we were struggling [read: drunk as skunks], then the bike fell over, and the engine fell out). Also, you can see the M16 (sorry, I forgot the pitch, Dagnabbit!) nut I had a cap welded onto to close up the speedo cable hole.
What's left of the wiring:

If you look past the carb, you can see I have all of 5 wires running along the left side of the frame. 2 for the coil, 2 for the Decomp solenoid, and 3 (inside the heat shrink) for the headlight (common ground). That equals 5.

Now, since I have not adjusted my decomp sol and the bike keeps starting fine, and the nuts keep rattling loose anyway, I may just remove it and see how it goes. Since it's a 97, it has all the good stuff in the case to keep the starter from breaking like the 86s...
Oh, and I am also going to rebuild USGCerams' old brake caliper and MC and stick it on mine... My pops (Vroom Sr) bought his bike (86), on which the MC & caliper were trashed, so I gave him mine...
Is there any interest in a tech. sect. article on "How to Rebuild your brake caliper and MC?"
