Hey guys I'm a recent savage owner looking for a little advice/ networking help.
I'm having trouble emailing verslagen1 about a tensioner, possibly i'm too new? If you get a chance my email is facestabbah@gmail.com. I'm coming up on 15k and she's my daily ride to work so I don't want to put this off too long. Any help would be appreciated.
Happy Saturday everyone!

I have a donor. I need a couple bolts to mount a Harley muffler
Do you have any parts to trade?

Hi, I'm new here. I can't seem to email Verslagen. My email is utincutin@gmail.com. I probably need to post more than 1 post. I have an 07' with approx 9k miles that i picked up cheap. The odometer doesn't work though, so who knows how many true miles its got. Plunger is measuring 21 mm of extension.
Thanks

Getting ready to change the tensioner. Just sent the email. But I got to thinking. As the tensioner has a pawl to restrict the inward movement of the plunger would a lighter spring place the chain and guides under less pressure? Would this result in reduced wear?

Assuming no engine vibration, yes but there is a lot of vibrations that would cause the motion anyway.
Once it's clicked out, thermal cycling causes the damage.

Hi! For some reason it won't let me email you.
I'm interested in your verslavy mod cam tensioner. My 2015 is at 15k miles and has been making that cam chain noise for a while now (just figured out that's probably what it is!). Do you have any of the used/modded ones available?
I'll be checking it this weekend to confirm that this is the issue, but if I can install it at the same time that would be awesome!
My email address is kat.liege@gmail.com. I can email you my address on there. Thanks!

With 15k I am sure aearil is in a more needful position than I. If it will get him done sooner put him ahead of me in the queue.

Thanks so much, but I wouldn't want to take your place. I am ordering a new chain & guides. When I open it up this weekend, I'll replace if needed and if not I can wait.

Maybe stupid question but if I'm doing this, DO I need to replace the guides?? Assuming it hasn't fallen out yet and nothing is specifically damaged, it would just be the stretched chain that needs replacement, correct?
