Hello Everyone!!! I've been skimming the forums now for a couple of weeks. I just recently purchased an 2001 LS650 with 8000 miles. It had not received any love for awhile but with the help of the numerous postings here in the forums I was able to get her up and running.
This is my first bike but I wanted something that was simple and easy to fix because I like to tinker. The plan is to turn it into a bobber at some point in time once I'm confident she's running good. Here's a pic of it the day I bought it. I'll post more once she's cleaned up.

I can log back in.....
Not sure what's been going on but I've not been able to see the forum for the best part of a year over here in Limey land.... Kept getting an error.. Tried a proxy which worked but then got a VS800 so have been busy annoying a UK forum....
Loads has happened since my last visit here and am about to start stripping my ol' Thumper down and getting creative....
Expect loads of really dumb questions..........
Great to be back ... Big Love... X

Good afternoon Gentlemen
I've been hanging around the forum for a couple months now, and finally decided to take the plunge. Been working a little bobber project. Just about done now other than trying to work a new carb out. I'll be asking you all about that next. Anyways here's Butterscotch aka Susie aka The Great American Hipster Eater.

Hi there,
Just got back into biking after a 15yr break. Moved to New Zealand from England rode bikes since I was 16 there. Just become single again so obviously the first thing I did was get another bike .Having been reading this forum for a while I decided that the S40 was just the thing, and have just got a 2006 with 6700 kms on it. I made the right decision, what a blast. Looking forward to playing with it engine wise.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

Hello from East Yorkshire, UK. I'm not new to bikes by any means, but I just bought a '87 Savage to play with. Sadly it had been in a lockup for 8 years, so in a bit of a sorry state. However, it's been stripped down and is now on the mend. No doubt I will be doing the usual shortly and asking all the wrong questions. Can't add a pic yet, don't seen to be able to compress my photos enough to attach. See you soon.

Long time lurker, finally signed up. I picked up an 87 Savage for $300 about a year ago. Finally getting around to get it built into a cafe. It'll be loosely built after the Ryca kit. Lots of them out there.

Hi All. New member from the south island of New Zealand. Just got my hands on a 2005 S40, upgrading from the gutless piece that was my GZ250. Wanting to bob it out and go for the full black look. Love the look of redpiranha's, shiftbiscuit's and savagebob's builds.
I have absolutely no mechanical or engineering skills. With the help of a few friends i hope to have this finished by summer 2016 and learn a lot along the way. At this stage the parts that intimidate me the most in the build will be the complete strip for painting(due to lack of mechanical knowledge) along with working out the rear solo seat. I look forward to sharing my progress and annoying you all with questions
