Welcome Jerry. That would put you about 10K miles a year. Not a bad yearly average, and the year-round riding climate doesn't hurt either.

Hello All! My name is Darrell and I'd like to introduce myself, and say what a great forum this is.
I just purchased a (new to me) 2003 Savage (from my local HD Dealership!). I teach high school in Portsmouth, VA, and cannot believe the wealth of information on this site. I have already taken advantage of several modifications suggested here, as well as accessory add-on suggestions listed on this site. The technical "how to" guides posted here have elevated my Savage knowledge 10x in a very short time. It's great knowing I'm not by myself on this adventure
I look forward to making many new friends on this site. Regards, Darrell.

Welcome Jerry and Darrell.
Darrell: Some of us are talking about a spring, 2009 run along the coast down to Maryland and VA. Keep a lookout in the cafe for info if you would care to join us.

PhotoJoe: I'll keep an eye here for info on that Spring '09 coastal ride.
Toymaker: We get out Friday afternoon and don't go back till Jan 5, '09. 14 days off in a row! I'm counting on some riding time to recharge (my) batteries. (not my bike's!)

Hello All!
Purchased leftover 08 from stealership. Been away from riding for ten plus years. After some research decided S40 was best for me. Dealer is storing bike for me until April. Found this site through google. Saw what a valuable resource this site is and became an alliance member. Purchased a savage companion cd, a couple of tee's, a repair manuel, and am eagerly awaiting April. I live in Warwick, RI.

Hey all, another newbie here! Got my 2008 S40 this spring, and have put around 2500 miles on since I passed the Rider Safety class in July. Don't know why I put off getting a bike so long, it's a blast! I got her as what I thought would be a "starter bike", nice and light, but a decent size engine. But after the first time on the road, I realized it's a keeper! Plus, I've always liked the "underdogs" of the automotive word (I'm a fan of the AMC Gremlin!
)
Now I can't wait for work to pick back up enough for me to be able to afford some minor mods, I've seen tons of great ideas on here!
(there'd be a picture here, but can't seem to make it work)

Hey, I'm Adam. I've been on here before asking questions, but figured I should go ahead and introduce myself... I bought an 87 Savage on Craigslist a few months ago. I had some problems getting it registered because of the title (actually, still fighting it) but I got registration from International Title Service, so I've at least been able to ride it around (not sure if that's legal or not though).
What else... I live in Salisbury, MD. This is the first bike I've owned and ridden. I was given an 87 Yamaha RD350 (I think) a few years ago, tore it apart, put it back together, and it still didn't run, so I gave it to my other friend who replaced a few things and turned it into a cafe cruiser.
I like the bobber look and am working on getting mine to look a little cooler... One day I'll get it the way I want...

I've been asking plenty of questions as well so I'll go ahead and introduce myself. My name is Josh and I am fom Jackson Tennessee. I bought my 97 Savage about 3 years ago. I love it. I wouldn't ride anything else. I'm currently in the process of chopping it a little. Nothing extreme, just want a little longer front end and possibly lower the rear a little. The forum has been incredible for all my questions.
