Ed, review your instructions yourself and if you have any doubts post the troubled instruction section here on your thread and let all your happy past customers as a whole give you feedback and suggestions for any needed wording changes.
Tell whoever it is that he can come talk to me about his issues in a PM. Some folks just need to gripe and get it out of their system.
Next, shamelessly incorporate any good suggestions that come out of it into your product, either paperwork-wise or product-wise. I worked in Quality for 30 years and any semi-valid complaints always went back to the engineering group with the "good bits" highlighted for incorporation into the next revision of the product.
Designers need feedback too, and they always listened to the valid bits.
The lady manager of the complaint department was affected by her job however. The stress of reading a constant diet of all the bile and inflammatory statements over time became too much for her. So, the moral of that story is "roll on past it after you incorporate any good bits, and don't dwell on it as it can hurt you some if you dwell on it too much".
So, you (with me knowing you) need to pass this nasty along to someone mean enough to handle it without being affected (that's me). Get your paperwork fixed if you have any doubts about it. Keep on making the forward controls because most folks love them a lot. Steal his good ideas if he had any and incorporate them because that is the only good value you will get out of the mess.
