Installing new grips on '05 S40

I read a post earler describing how to remove the grips, but I think they might be different for the S40's.  He said that on the throttle side there would be two allen heads to remove, but I don't see any allen heads?  I've got the end caps off and and I don't see any bolts, screws holding it on.  Should I just try to slide them off or are the screws hidden under the control units on the handlebars?

The twist grip itself is held on by the control, take it off and the grip will come off.

There is a white plastic core that the throttle cable is attached to.  The new grips don't have this plastic core.  Am I to assume that the new grips simply slide over it?  You can file this one under the Complete Idiot's Guide to motorcycles.  Here's the grips I bought:

Thanks for bailing me out!
