So, on my way home from work today I was on a nice stretch of freshly paved blacktop county road with a clear view for about 2 miles straight ahead. I was testing out 40-70mph per Bill's post. Anyhow, after charting the performance on the high end of the spectrum I decided to check out the low-end.
I've known from the start that this little bike had a lot of low-end (it dumped me off the first night I had it

. And I love when dumbass teeagers and frat boys with hats on backwards pull up in their little S10 pickups and Toyota Celicas and rev their engines at me. It's fun to embarrass them while looking all relaxed and nonchalant. Especially if they have their girlfriend with them.

So I took the Savage from a dead stop and flat rolled on the throttle. The front wheel came up off the ground about 18 inches, I let off a bit, leaned forward to shift my weight & put the wheel down, clutched and shifted to 2nd and rolled hard on the throttle again. I was about to shift up again but I was already at 38mph. I didn't see the need to take it any farther. I was impressed.
So after I checked to be sure I didn't need a clean set of drawers, I checked in the mirror to be sure it was me riding the bike (I managed to keep control of a small wheelie and not lay it down!!!) Then I had to light up a cigarette. My only question is, was it as good for the Savage as it was for me?

I don't think I'll try this again, as I don't want to wreck the bike. But she sure did pleasantly surprise me.
