Your Speedometer Unit May be Loose!
08/31/08 at 09:19:26
Just wanted to let everyone know what I found while replacing my tank yesterday. Went to remove the speedometer unit and when I tried using my socket wrench, I found that ALL of the bolts holding the unit in place over the springs were finger tight....I shouldn't even say tight, they were all loose. I have an '06 with 1500 miles on it. Don't know if this is to be expected given that the tank may vibrate a lot given that it's only secured by two bolts in the back, but just wanted to let everyone know.
