Thanks for the compliments on the pictures, guys.
The pink pig (hog?) has been somewhat of an icon here in our local
Ohio farm country since I was a kid. It sits in front of what was once
a small piglet (hoglet?) nursery, of which now remains just a nice
farmhouse and barn.
I had not driven past it in years, but its distant memory came to mind
as I was reading about BabyHog and Dave's photo challenge.
So I got up early yesterday morning, rummaged through my
daughter's old doll collection, found the spittin' image of BabyHog as a
baby, fired up the Savage, told her to hang on, then we rode off in
search of the pink oinker.
When we found it, I knocked on the door of the farmhouse and asked the
kindly elderly lady if I might take some pictures for our scavenger hunt.
She was obviously a bit confused and concerned at first, thinking that I
intended to ride off with her pink piggy for the scavenger hunt.
After I assured her that I only wanted to take some pictures,
she graciously gave me permission, saying that she was glad that
she'd just given Miss Piggy a fresh coat of pink paint last week.
After an exhausting photo session of BabyHog posing for glamour shots
with PinkieHog we rode back home, satisfied with our efforts.
I spent the rest of the day water skiing

Hence my avatar, gizzo.
