They just got back up and got back on their bike and continued racing.
ATGATT wasn't very much either, leather pants and jackets, knee pads, elbow pads and helmets.

Went to the theater and seen that one. Still watch it from time to time. Steve McQueen was and always will be my Hollywood hero. He wasnt made up, he was the real deal. A lot of times when he was racing he used an alias as not to attract attention. A while back there was a On Any Sunday reunion. Most of the surviving members got back together with Bruce Brown. That was the golden age of motorcycling. It was before all the Harley hooplah. I have nothing against Harleys, just dont care for all the BS that goes along with em. Harley's are just another brand of motorcycle. That was the age when motorcycles were becoming half way reliable and were beginning to be recognized as a viable means of transportation. Not to mention their offroad capabilities were being developed to the fullest. That was a good time to be riding.

PS,... the little tyke ridin' the cool wheelie 1 min into the film, is future champ Jeff Ward, at 8 years old....
...he later won nine AMA national championships, winning 125, 250 and 500cc national motocross titles for the first time. He was also a 7 time winner of the MX Des Nations as a member of Team USA.
Plus, third place at the 1997 Indy 500 and was named rookie of the year...
Pretty awesome Motard rider too...
