Different engine cases, what year was the change? (Read 121 times)

Gyrobob Serious Thumper Offline Posers ain't motorcyclists Posts: 2571 Newnan, GA Gender:	Different engine cases, what year was the change? 09/29/10 at 17:12:44 I've been told that somewhere around 2001 or 2002 or 2003 maybe, the engine cases changed from a clunky older style to something that looks a little nicer. Is this true? If so, in what year did this take place? Thanks for any info, Bob

Picked up an extra shift gear (from 4-5) but that was internal only, no change to external appearances.

The spare/replacement engine I bought came off of a 2002 and it had the black-painted (but chromed edge) fins. Looks nicer, no difference otherwise.
