Good one thumper

BH: I was a roadie when I was 18 and partied 6 nights a week. Left for the venues around 1PM, set up the stage, done by 6-7 and had nothing to do but drink free booze until we broke it down, usually done by 3AM. Sleep and do it all over again. On the 7th day I drank because it was my day off

The kicker for me came when I didn't remember driving home. Woke up and the car was there, but had no memory of driving it home. Scared the crappers out of me. Had 2 friends die in booze related accidents around the same time...so enough.
Mick: I was out on disability from Late September to March, and didn't smoke that whole time. Went back to work and lasted a few weeks. Driving was the trigger. No excuse. I hate that I'm still smoking. Also stopped once for 2 years, and another time for 6 years. I've heard drug addicts say that it was easier to give up drugs than smokes.
Buried my Dad last year after he lost his battle with lung Cancer, and he stopped smoking 30 years ago. Diagnosed with Lung Cancer 15 years after he quit.
