Bill is right,
The rescue was almost 100% US-born technology and expertise.
- The T-130 drill rig was made by Schramm, Inc. in West Chester, PA. - The low-perfil hammers that actually drilled the initial hole and then expanded it into a 28" wide shaft were made by Center Rock, Inc. in Somerset, PA. This company was also involved in the Queecreek rescue a few years ago. - The driller who was at the controls when the hammer broke through into the area where the miners were was born in Colorado.
Even the rescue capsule design was influenced by the US design used at Quecreek.
