silk glove liners might be a little better. at least another layer.

Yep !!! Rode my new BMW from Florence to Rome last Saturday night, 200 miles waaay after sundown, wanted to make it by dinnertime so I cruised away at a leisurely 140+km/h (90mph).
Leather gloves are nice but electric heated grips are the way to go !

Anyway, I must agree with 12Bravo and Kimchris.
On the Savage I use a pair of Thinsulate ski gloves (not mitts, ensure you have all 5 fingers ! ) they work a charm.
Glove liners are a very good idea (silk is nice but some sinthetic is just as effective) they also help to "fill up" the glove and do away with possible slack which is typical of ski gloves.
Oh, and don't forget that can of H&B Hofbrau strapped to the rear seat !!!
