Passing along some useful information I just came across. Most of us have cell phones. Before you update to a new and different phone, here are some useful tips of what to do to the old one first..

1. Remove the SIM card from the back of the phone.
2. Remover the memory card if yours have one.
3. Find out how to and reset your phone.

Doing all of these will remove any data you have in your phone. Just simply pressing delete does not remove the data you had on your phone.
You really don't want someone else getting their hands on the info you have in your phone do you?  Again passing this along.. kim

There are a couple of places that will take your old phone, wipe it, and use it in charitable ways, battered womens shelters and the like.  You have to do your due diligence though, and make sure the outfit is legit.

A few months ago I got myself my first cell phone via my sisters contract, it was realy fancy, so many bells and whistles ,like my watch
it was shock proof, anti magnetic,water proof ,take pictures,still and moving,only had it a month dang thing caught fire.

I have a Net10 that I purchased at Wally World. I carry for emergencies and it is a plain jane phone.
It has no camera and that is ok with me. I don't need a phone to do anything other than be able to call out or receive calls.
I don't text, tweet not do facebook.

Got it 4 years or so ago, and the battery's still holding up, mostly because it's hardly ever on.  My boss used to try and call me on it, guess he thought he'd have a better chance of getting me.  He finally wised up when I told him I only turn it on every couple weeks to check for messages!

I have a couple of old ones that I should recycle.

I don't do FB, tweet, or any of that crap either.  (I'm surprised, 3 of us in one place, go figure! haha)  But I admit, I am a texter!

I would be lost without my cell phone.  I have a Samsung BlackJack II, which I've had for over a year.  I'm too cheap to pay for the data plan, to give me internet service, but hubby has an iPhone through his work, so we use it.  But my phone is Windows Mobile based.  Almost like a little computer.  File folders and everything just like your PC!  Spreadsheets, Word documents, pictures, etc.  2GB mini-SD card holds a ton of stuff.  I can even take the SD-card out of my deer camera, stick it in my phone, and view the pictures!  Only thing I haven't been able to do is watch my ride videos on the phone.  They come up, open, and I can hear the audio, but can't see the video.  Oh well, I'll figure it out one of these days....
