For those of us that can make it. Dec 4, 2010 is the date for this annual event.
This ride benefits the children who are less fortunate as others.
I am so hoping to attend this year. My hopefully last Dr. appt is on Dec 3rd. I plan to have my bike running sometime in Nov.
Last year their were approximately 15,000 bikes. The year before count was said to be 10,000.
I love doing this ride. They close all the streets off and nothing but bikes are allowed. We ride up and around the Capital and then over to another area. Their people line both sides of the road with their bikes.
Their are nothing but bikes for miles and miles.
You look around and everyone is smiling and in good moods.
It does not matter what you ride as everyone is doing this for the same reason which is the kids.
We decorate the bikes and once we get to Olympia before the run begins, we attach the toys to the bikes.
It is interesting to see how everyone else decorates their bikes as well.
Then along the way, people line the sides of the street waving, holding thank you signs as well as saying Thank you.
Some who ride 2 up throw candy to the kids along the way. It really is a great time.
It is a very well organized event. Again I am hoping to take part in this.
