I knew it was fake right off the bat. That is a DeHaviland chipmunk, which has an electric start. You have to turn the prop over a couple of times before starting as it is an inverted engine and you have to clear the oil out of the cylinders before starting or you risk bending a rod. That's why they smoke so much when first started- the residual oil is burning off.
