I just finished "walking" around the school on the streetview in google....school has a flagpole out front so they must fly the flag? Why were they upset when the kid did? I'm really proud of that young man and all the folks that stood up for him!

We are free to fly any flag in this country, be it old glory, gay pride or an Iranian flag. This is effing bosh*t.
Ps, just don't fly any foreign flag ABOVE the Stars and Stripes, not only is it disrespectful but the old dude with the big knife will take it away from you! And rightfully so in my opinion.

It's called flag etiquet, when in the merchant marine , we always flew the star and stripes above the union jack while docked in the US,An American ship docked in England would show the union jack above the US flag,it's just good manners.

According to the technical flag etiquette, (don't know if this goes for ships on foreign docks) when you fly a foreign flag along with the American flag they should be the same size an the same height

& all state flags, flown with the US flag, must be kept lower than the US flag.
Ohh, except Texas. Our flag flies at the same height..

Edgar I'm pretty sure the US flag flys higher than all state flags, and all other country's if it is flown in this country, I do know that the US flag flies higher or the same as the British flag in london at the US embassy, because the US embassy is on American soil the host country has given you, Same in DC the british embassy is on British soil. Americans cant go there unless invited, unless you work there.

I drove down embassy row in DC a few years ago and can't remember how the flags were flown within the compound. But in the US flags of other nation should be equal size and flown at the same height, that's wgat the tour guide in NYC said as we passed by the hotel that guests foreign dignitaries. And this is from a flag etiquette site:
When flown with the national banner of other countries, each flag must be displayed from a separate pole of the same height. Each flag should be the same size. They should be raised and lowered simultaneously. The flag of one nation may not be displayed above that of another nation.

Figures that Texas would ignore the rules of etiqiette, they probably don't know what the word means. Maybe they should be allowed to seceed,or go back to being Mexico.
