How's the power on the S50 compare to the Savage? I've read that the S50 is kinda the "hot rod" of the Suzuki cruiser lineup, due to the light weight along with the size of the engine.

S83 is air/oil cooled and has a rad that is only 'bout 1/2 the size of the cooler on the S50

Get 'em while they're hot, that's the last year for 'em. Dealer says the narrower frame and tank didn't sell as well as their "fatter" siblings. Too bad, they ride nice if you're not too tall!

I'm very happy with the S50. Yes, it's significantly lighter (and so quicker) than the other Boulevards, including the S83. I haven't timed it but read that it will go through the 1/4 mile in 13.3. I just got the Savage a few weeks ago and it's winter in Boston so I haven't ridden it enough to compare.

The S83 and S50 do look very similar. The give-away is the smaller radiator, as mentioned, (it's an oil cooler, S50 is liquid cooled) and the S83 tail light is under the fender.

I can see myself trying to find another savage/s 40 to work on and mod after I get some money saved up keep the thread (hope) alive people!!!
