gc, just in the right place at the right time. As the story goes, the bike had been left for service at a local independent motorcycle shop and the owner moved out of state and never returned to pick it up. The shop owner eventually tracked him down and, after all the certified letters and a lawyer, secured a mechanic's lien and then clear title after about 18 months. He put it on Craigslist for $1,750 and took my $1,500 offer. The bike needed a detail cleaning and had small tank scrape where it had been dropped, but other than that, it seems solid.
