I am new to this forum, I was just accepted today and am excited to be apart of this community. I recently just bought my first motorcycle on Sunday 6-9-13 it is a 1987 Savage. Its a great bike and very well maintained with only 12k on it and i'm only the 3rd owner and the owner before me only had it a year and he rode it once and never even obtained his Motorcycle license so i kinda consider myself the second owner. I have a question regarding the paint job. I have looked everywhere on the internet on this website and I cannot find the paint job. It is a two tone Red/Ivory, has anyone ever seen this before? Do you know if it is stock or aftermarket custom? Or was it a custom paint job done by Suzuki? Thx for any assistance.

Thanks Nick, I really like your all white bike too. Have anybody ever looked into the company Ryca? Have you bought a kit? if so is it easy to install?

There's several threads on here about them including an official update thread at the top of the Rubber Side Down Board...

It's a custom spray job. Also note the "tombstone" tail light and the 1940's styled front fender marker light, similar to the Indian Motorcycles. A few other subtle details but overall a clean piece of work!

Hey thanks, yeah i noticed the custom tail lights it also has the old school dark blue diamond in the middle of the tail light, and I figured the front fender marker was aftermarket. At first I really thought it was stock but once I got it home and started doing some research i couldn't find anything like it. It is such a clean paint job it just looked stock. The original owner was really going for that old school indian/harley look cause he put aftermarket pipes on it to that are super throating, whenever I start it up or drive by everyone thinks I'm a helicopter...lol.  Once again thanks for the info im new to motorcycles and especially Suzuki Savages but I really like the bike a lot its super fun and it does have some get up and go no matter what other people say. I'm 5'10 210lbs and it fits me good, the controls could be a couple inches forward but overall good fit. Im glad i found this forum

I recently joined! My 87' Savage I'm fixing up, was in a front end crash and I bought it cheap, engine runs fine, you can see where I beat out the dent in the front fender!

Here's a picture of me and my granddaughter on our way back from Laconia motorcycle week. We just went up for the day. It was a fun ride. Lots of bikes everywhere.

Here's a pic of my little scooter. It's an 86, 32000 km. I've had it about 8 months now, spent a couple of weeks bobbing and painting then had a great summers riding. I love it. A new saddle is next on my things to do list.

Thought I would post the pic of my bike here, too. Turn out exhaust with HD heat sheild. Saved about 100lbs (exaggeration) from losing the stock muffler and taking the brace bar off.

Good for you, taking your granddaughter out for fresh air and some sun the proper way ... on a bike ride.
By the way, you look a few days older than the last time I saw you on the Dragon ride.   Cheesy Grin
I may look a day or two older too, but not quite sure yet.   Cool
