Okay, I went hunting. Seems Progressive & REgressive arent exactly the quickest, easiest words to grasp as they apply to suspensions. The drawing Is interesting, I just dont know enough to get much out of it. AAAAnd, Im not quite up to spending any mental horsepower to try to learn hoot right now.
If someone has a quick explanation, Ill look at it.

The way I understand it (which could be wrong) is that when the spring is at B or C, compression starts with mild resistance but increases as the spring is compressed. When the spring is at an angle that causes a regressive response, resistance decreases as the spring is compressed.

The angle of the shock also influences usable shock travel. At A, if the swingarm moves up two inches, it compresses the shock two inches. But in the range between B and C,  when the swingarm moves up two inches, the shock compresses less than two inches.

Back in the early days of Superbike racing, one of the standard mods was to change the shock angle.

Thats one reason a single stock bike rides better than a twin shock motorcycle.
