Decadent Count (need 3 minimum) $28 a person a night for 3 bed small room
Oldfeller (calls for bed or bottom bunk, jest ain't climbing anywhere)

We are now working to fill an apartment with 4-6 people.
Apartments generally wind up costing a variable amount (calc'd daily) mainly because over the course of the week it isn't fully manned all the time.
You need at least 4 people to make it work out at all
, or you'd be better off to move to a 3 bed standard room when you get below 4 people. However, the difference saved by filling up the apartment is not all that much anyway and last year I don't think we even used the kitchen to cook anything. People slept on the futons rather than climbing to the upper bunks, so we still slept 4 in the apartment at a cost of $25 a head when there were 4 present.
Lancer still hasn't dialed in but I betcha he's a decadent when he does.
Verslagen, which bike are you borrowing?

Hubby wants to go back to Shenandoah, but we are still contemplating. Will keep you posted if I can talk him into a Dragon trip.

What's the date again?
If possible, I'll go. Of course, I have to make sure it coordinates with Air Force Reserve and family commitments.

Piglet, I stopped there on the way to the 2009 dragon ride. Spent 2 nights camping in Front Royal so i could ride a whole day on Skyline drive. I'm thinking about doing that again this year if time permits. That was a great day of riding.

Oh AL, now I really wanna go back!! Nice pic, I'm jealous. We were in the Jeep in '06. No bikes. Would be an awesome bike ride.
If anyone would like to take a trip to Shenandoah/Skyline Drive neighborhood, let me know!

Mike, Skyline drive runs for 100 miles starting in Front Royal Va. and running south to Waynesboro. The entire lenth of Skyline Drive is located in Shenendoah National Park. At the southern end of Skyline Drive is the beginning of the Blue Ridge Parkway. I would take the BRP all the way to the dragon from there but at 35 mph it would take me a week. So to answer your question, it is alot like a BRP ride. Riding along the ridgetops with beautiful views on both sides. I think I'm talking myself into stopping there again this summer. The following picture is of Mary's Rock Tunnel. The tunnel, 670 feet long with onlt 13' clearance , was bored through the solid granite of Marys Rock in 1932. Mary's Rock has its fair share of legends of how the rock was named. One story claims that Francis Thornton wed Mary Savage and brought her up the mountain to show her the lands they would own together. I thought that Mary's last name being Savage was quite appropriate.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is neat when it is completely empty -- but it never is.
We spent time last year stuck behind two bicyclists in spandex who were humping it up close to the speed limit (and backing up traffic for miles, but they didn't care one whit about that).
They wuz being echo friendly.
Cherocola Skyway is my kind of slow road -- normal speed limits on most of it.
