In other words, the MP3 will lean over more into a bend than a savage... Cool

It will also countersteer you out of trouble

Here's an old 1984 prototype on a puny little Vespa 50cc

In fact, the MP3 is such a POOR DESIGN even KTM copied it !!!

So, go on, slam Italian industry... Huh

Dude.. no mean to slam anything. The MP3 IS heavy (compared to a Savage). 450 lbs Dry for the 250 and 538lbs Dry for the 500cc.

And it WILL fall over.
I ain't talking about while in motion. I said it was a hoot and a half to ride, and it is. It corners great, and I said so.
I'm talking about when you are stopped. People think. "I got 3 wheels, I'm good!!" Then they forget to lock the front suspension and over it goes. Or, they stop at light with the front end locked, but it's at a bit of an angle when they do (yes, it will lock when you are not exactly upright). So.. they take off and the bike is already in a lean.. bad news. Or they try to straighten it up and forgot how heavy it is.

So, if you want to be mad at me, be mad. I test drove them.. I've talked to mechanics. I've talked to people that dropped them.
It's a lot of fun, but it is not a trike, and it WILL FALL OVER.

The first thing they tell you at the dealership when delivering a new MP3 is
DO NOT LOCK THE FRONT SUSPENSION AT THE LIGHTS !
So, apparently, some smart aleck will...

There are many jokes on many things cracked by people who are poor in those very things...

I have no jokes to tell on Vespa or Piaggio, but there are more plants building Piaggio designs in the world than Honda... Wink

I mostly just lurk, but I couldn't keep totally silent on this one! The two wheels in front configuration does feel strange, and yes, there are new definitions for the phrase "Chinese Junk" that have nothing do do with boating! (I'll say no more, lest it seem self serving).

And don't forget that if/when you want three wheels, we are the place to look to keep you on your beloved thumpers:

Bigzuk, I have taken the liberty of highlighting those three words, as one said, for national pride.

Two years ago the only scooter with two front wheels was the Piaggio MP3. Cool

Today, the chinese have copied. OK, so what ? Chinese bikes have wet-paper bag quality compared to European production. Grin

As comparison, would any of you buy a Chinese lookalike to a Harley ? Or buy a secondhand specimen of the Real McCoy ? Wink
