fixed it,but i have a question

Well after losing clutch function in October, then having problems getting parts, i got the bike fixed today. Clutch cam was snapped in half. On the up side, the bike sat since it broke, all through the winter, and started right up, awesome!
So here is my question, i remember people on here saying that the clutch arm thing needs to be between the two marks on the case. I have the bottom of the arm between them, but the top of it is about one eighth of an inch above it. I can't seem to fix it, regardless of how much i adjust. Any tips?
Thanks

The bottom of the arm is what counts, and that with a very mild upward tension (such as offered by means of a thin rubber band) to take all of the loose slop out of the lever arm / eccentric piece / springs system.
The way you move this lever arm thingie is to replace your clutch rod with one of a different length (longer rod lowers the lever, shorter rod raises it).
"adjusting" at your clutch lever or at the round threaded cable thingie does nothing to change this relationship. Changing the rod is what makes it move.

Old,
Ever since I started
this thread
a few years back, I've been laboring under the misconception that you used the arm's
longitudinal centerline
to see where you fell (hopefully) between the crankcase marks.
You are saying to use the
bottom
of the arm to make this determination.
Please elaborate.....I'm in the learning mode!
