It's not that the wheel came unbolted, the spokes broke. Perhaps they've pushed the weight-savings envelope a bit too far.

They have single-arm rear suspension and the wheel bolts on with a single nut, just like on racing cars or 1930's MGs with wire wheels. It could well be the nut wasn't tightened to specs.
