If you have a sport bike then go for it! Looks like fun. I took the smart rider course where I live but they don't have a track.

I've a got a buell xb9s, does that count as a sport bike???  and the rear tire needs changing pretty badly so that's another $200 on top of the $70, and gas and food  so we're talking spending around $350 for a day at the track . . .   which otherwise would be about the same if it wasn't for that tire thing, thinking about passing on this for now, maybe another day.

I don't like pain.  I do not want to die in pain.

You can ride at the edge unless you excede the edge -- which means you must fall, slide, etc..  Helmets and leathers and armor is so you do not die on the track.  And it works!  Very few people die on the track.  Learning to ride in the track does teach you to faster, safer.

Me, I prefer without pain.  I prefer avoiding collisions to surviving collisions.  I have no need to ride the track.  I have need to ride to the edge.

You should take the Track Day Class.  You will be a more skillful rider than I am.

got the coupon code 50% off and leathers and boots are supposed to be free but the code didn't work on them, but I plan on just going on Sunday with my S-50 and learning a lot and having fun.

yeah, you can take a cruiser to track day. . . .

just don't try to follow the sporties through any turns or around the track

so your "learning" opportunities are limited, but it was fun going around a racetrack  was cool, I'm going to miss the turns, cause my normal commuting is straight as can be.

I left early for a couple of reasons, 1. I had to go take care of some of my friends dogs while they are out of town, and 2. after going out around the track about 15 times, um, yeah kinda got the been there done that and now I'm bored thing going on. and 3. if I needed help, the instructors all had sport bikes and I'm not comfortable trusting them to lead me around at a cruiser pace/style of riding vs their sportbike style of riding. I'm sure there was more I could have learned but idk what it was and no one was telling me anything, good or bad.

would I do it again?  no, I'd save up for the advanced MSF course
