Recent projects

I have not had much time for the bike lately, unfortunately, but I have managed to get some other smaller projects accomplished. Here are a few shots.

A hand truck I found on the side of the road with a busted wheel.
Before:

new wheel of fleabay 5 bucks shipped.

After:

My trash can rain barrel and garden

Gary fisher frame brought back to life after being stripped by hoodlums  Embarrassed

Finally, my jetta's roof rack and fog light installation.

Next up, a certain suzuki savage needs some attention.

Nice Jetta and love the fogs! How do like it? Which model is it?
Traded in my '06 TDI for a '10 Golf TDI last year. Love the VeeDubs.

Nice projects -- Those are great hand trucks/dollies.  It'll come in handy in places you'd never even think of, till you have one!

Looks like a QCE answer on that trellis. You build the frame & then run string on it?

QCE is Quick, Cheap, Easy.

How much time & $$ you got in that hand truck including paint?

Mmmmm, nothing like fresh home-grown 'maters.  Can't believe I didn't grow any this year.  Shame on me.

Great jobs!  (I had a red Jetta several years ago.  Miss it like crazy!)

I love my V-Dub, its a 2010 TDI Jetta, I used to have a 2006 TDI Jetta but I wrecked it pretty bad and insurance bought me this one. Great car that gets around 40 MPG with a turbo charged dino burner.

The trellis is a simple design I saw online somewhere. Yes, I just built the frame and then ran twine down from that to hold up the plants. It is working really well and I have a ton of tomatoes growing.

The hand truck was CHEAP. I got the frame free on the side of the road and the only parts I had to buy were one replacement wheel and two new casters. I already had most of the supplies I needed including paint, all I had to buy in terms of tools was a jar of naval jelly to strip off a lot of the rust. I probably put around $30 in it when it was all said and done. New I think they are around $65, so i guess I came out on top. It just makes me happy knowing I brought something back to life that was on its way to a landfill.

No good websites specifically, I just google image searched for " tomato trellis" and A whole slew of designs came up. Mine is a modification of one that I saw a picture of.
