chop the frame to tilt the neck for more rake, add longer forks
usually a hard tail..
bobber(usa)
bike relieved of excess weight, like fenders
minimalist look..
cafe racer(uk)
strip bike of excess weight,tune engine for speed
some add aerodynamic bodywork
tucked in rider position
also means a group of rockers who would race from one coffee house and back before a song ended on the juke box
also european continent origins

& that pretty much explains the popularity of several KINDS of pics..
For a sampling,, have alook at calenders. Ya get Horses & race cars & all kinds of things on calenders. yup,, even motorcycles..

Pretty clear on those...
Now,.. what's the difference 'tween a bobber and a brat?...
...
(I'm thinking it's ape bars and bolt on tank that make a bobber into a brat)... and usually a mid-set for the feet...
