Fun Fun...then...Fricking Deer!

Got behind a tyical local harley rider this evening on a ride. Half helmet, vest, tshirt, chain wallet on a 1200 sportster. Nice curvey road. I laid back on the outside and follwed. He would run on the straights but couldnt pull away in the short ones. Lay into the corners and id be rideing his arse comeing out and letting off the throttle as he was still trying. He really wanted to leave me behind but i ate him up in the curves.
But all good things come to an end when we hit about a mile long straight and he took off about 95. I laughed and thought about the half dozen deer crossings in that mile long stretch.
Nice visit with the oldest then nice ride back home about 1 in the morning. Only one cat along the way(15 miles) that even showed a peep of an eye along the road. Fairly new blacktop so a good ride and nice curves. But all good things must come to an end.
I get within 200 yards of my own driveway and here blasting out of the field is one of my deer. No slide rule but my instant calculations told me we were on intersecting courses. I could panic break on a loose gravel road....not happening. Or i could lay on the throttle and get the he!! out of HER way. I chose the latter. I was also hopeing the roar of the muffler/engine might discourage her from jumping the fence and landing astride me and my steed.
CHIT! Wish I could do corners like she did. Reminded me of when them fish flash into the edge of the light on a dark lake and flash right back out. She roared up to the fence at full steam out of the inky blackness, blew snot on the barbed wire, made an immediate 180 degree turn....still at full speed, and zoomed back into the darkness. Payback WILL come this fall during season...lol
Real nice late night ride with no critters or cars and then almost get taken out in my own d@mn driveway by one of my pet deer....lol

yep, gotta watch out for them antlered rats.
I ride slow at night and make sure the revs are up to keep up a good racket in deer prone areas.

Wolfman, glad to hear that Bambi changed
course and you were unscathed.
Deer as most of us know, are very unpredictable.
I have learned to always watch for 2, as seems if
their is 1, another is not far behind.. Again glad to
hear you and your bike were unharmed..

Buffalo meat is good, almost kind of grainier, maybe a touch sweeter.
But GAWD man, you hit a bison on a savage and all your going to do is PIZZ him off!
He's going to do the cloven hoofed two step all over you, and then just for good measure hes going to take that oversized head and try to push you through to china. THEN he's going to get really mad.
Elk are supposed to be bad. Wouldnt want to hit a grizzly...lol
And avoid ALL horses. Their bad news in a car. Have a tendancy to kick n thrash untill their completely gone. Na

Deer in Pakistan are protected, secondly they are rare and extinct. Our main problem are the COWS and BUFFALOES......next in line are.... Guess Who????..........HUMANS Yes! Humans......on cagers, 2 wheels or on 2 legs...they are nothing short of stunt men from Hollywood......beat that!!!
