Extending the swingarm on a boulevard S40
08/28/11 at 09:56:35
I have a 2007 boulevard S40, and at 6'1'' the frame of course is a little small. Has anyone ever extended the swingarm to make the bike a bit longer?? Thoughts? Ideas?
thanks in advance,,, and if you have a pic of one done this way it would be great!

If you need some room,, forward controls is much easier.

I will try the seat mod as well, but I still want to extend the swingarm right around 4 inches to make the bike longer... I am thinking just buy another swingarm off ebay, and send that one to a shop to have it extended,,, now I just have to find a drivebelt 4 inches longer,,,

Actually you will need a drive belt 8"longer. Easier to do a chain conversion.

Belts arent cheap,, chain conversion will be much less costly,.

I wholeheartedly agree....
Also, if I am only increasing the overall length of the swingarm 4" which puts the rear tire 4" farther back,,, why would I need 8 inches more belt instead of 4?

The belt runs around that big ol pulley/sprocket back there and if you move it back 4" the belt/chain will need to be 4" longer to get there and another 4" longer to get back
