I would say the picture has more evidence to animal cruality then the reported ticket. Is the leash long enough to reach the ground? Is there water available? I would think the owner is within arm's reach as the keys are still in the ignition. But what are the grounds for this ticket. Only Mr. key and stone cop can tell.

Looks like a Boston Terrier to me, not a Pug. Wink

I've had dogs that wouldn't ride on a 4-wheeler, and ones that loved it. If the dog didn't want to ride, it dang-sure wouldn't! I could foresee problems with distraction and such, but I don't think there should be a law against it. The dog looks pretty comfy to me!

Dog on the rear secured properly, leave em alone. Dog on a sheepskin pad on the gas tank, BAD idea! I can forsee any number of dangerous problems THAT could create.

I just a segment on Animal Planet about a American Eskimo dog that rides on a motorcycle and he has a group of dog riders.....was on Sunday night.......If Mr Peanut - my long haired Chihauhau would ride i'd take him everwhere i go!

(oh gawd, 30 years ago :'( )

Well look, the article headline said: 'Charged with "Animal Cruelty"!

The truth was he was pulled over and issued citations for careless driving and the improper transportation of an animal. Not cruelty...BIG difference.

Look how news sources hype distort and embellish headlines like fish bate. A**holes.

As for the crime of careless driving, if that's not careless driving on a MC I don't know what is. As for the improper transportation of an animal, I suspect that that's a motivational gesture to get him to stop doing it.
