They are said to be a pain. but good if you can get it running.

It usualy means they never titled it in their name & that can make getting a clear title not worth the time & expense. Add to that a snarky attitude from the seller & I wouldn't even waste my time looking at it.

For their day the V65 was a decent enough bike. IF you could keep it in tune. IF you could get the carbs even remotely in synch. Which is almost impossible, they are under the frame backbone area, between the cylinder banks, and they don't feed the cylinders the way you would think they do...

Bike junkyards refer to the V65 as the "Maggot". You can pull the front wheel with every gear change if the thing is running right. Whether you expect/want it to happen or not. I've seen 15 or so come into the bike graveyards with chunks of people stuck in the engines.

NOT a very user friendly machine.

WD has it on the ball with the carb tuning tho. PAIN IN THE ASS half the time but holy crap if it's running right she'll treat you just fine. Put 37k miles for a total of 63k when the shop she was parked in caught on fire.

Reply #7 - 10/14/11 at 02:20:32 If I remember there was an issue with the back heads getting enough air to keep them cool and it caused valve and cam issues. Fans of the bike had worked out some plumbing mods to fix the issue. It might be worth a little research before shelling out money. I never rode one but they were said to be wicked fast. Honda's V-max!

Less of a cruiser and more of a sport/street bike. It was a real superbike in its day, and quite a showcase for technology.
