For what it's worth, I saw a news story today that, in today's dollars, the wealthiest U. S. President was George Washington, whose fortune would be worth $525 Million today.
Next was Thomas Jefferson, at $255 Million today.

Has anyone else ever been amazed that our revolution, unlike any other that I can think of, was a revolution of the rich, mainly against an unfair tax system. All of the other revolutions I can think of, particularly the French and the Russian, were revolutions of the impoverished and destitute against the wealthy class.
