Stage 1; I ran my Savage like that for quite a few years and was very pleased with the performance. You will get very good power and torque from idle to redline.
Be sure to get a quality muffler; the cheap ones just burn the little packing they may have and you end up with a burned out can...harsh loud sound and poor performance, as well as having to retune again because of the change in flow.

YES
YES (1 Hard Krome; chromed stainless with removable stainless baffle, but there is really no need to remove the baffle, the sound is quite "robust" even with the baffle, loud but not a harsh loud)
They sold for $350+ per pair; it's a good solid quality product and will last a very long time.

Hey Lancer,

I'm sending out my Cylinder and Wiseco 96mm piston in just a few days to Boretech to do an overbore with carbide treatment and I want a performance cam. Which cam would you recommend? It looks like Stage 3 might be the way to go but I don't know. I want more bottom to mid range. I'm not really a speed freak. It's for a bobber build. I straight piped the exhaust and added a small baffled section, went bigger on the carb jets and added a cone filter. So far she runs very well but I think I should do the performance cam if I'm doing the wiseco over-bore. Let m know what you think.........

Sorry I missed you when you posted this Jason.
Yes, the Stage 3 camshaft and the Wiseco piston does make a good pair.
It has been about a 3 week turn-a-round for the camshaft, from the time I send it until I receive it back. Just send me your stock camshaft and I will take care of the rest. I assume your cam is in decent shape now. The critical part are the cam bearing surfaces, they need to be in good condition.

Pack it well with plenty of space around the cam. You do not want it touching the sides of the box at all. It could be damaged in shipping otherwise.

Do you have your old camshaft out already ? A usable cam core is required in exchange, or a core charge of $100 can be added to the cost of the camshaft instead... IF NEEDED.
I really prefer a usable cam core though. They are hard to come by and are needed to make the Performance Camshaft.
