Silly, vain question... I Know...

What do you do about Helmet Hair? For those of you who commute to work, did you buzz your head, wear a pony tail, just don't give a cr@p? Everyone else, how do you maintain your look (if you have one
) when you remove your helmet and reveal the wet duck doo?
I'm about ready to shave my head down, anyone got some good and sharp sheep shearing scissors? (say that 10 times fast...)

It's a lot shorter than it used to be, but a quick stop in the restroom and it's as good as it gets.

Helmet hair? A #2 shield on the trimmers,, not enough hair up there to helmetize.

I keep a comb and some mouse in the filing cabinet at work. A quick stop in the bathroom and I'm golden.

Helmet off on arrival, quick shake of the head and my natural curls do the rest! I hate having curly hair, but it has it's uses as after 2 minutes sans helmet its back to "normal"

I commute for close to an hour (one way) everyday and I wear a helmet - I decided pretty quickly that if I want to stay safe I may have to stop caring about the "do". I just keep it really short (3/4") and get a "high & tight" fade. I just kept getting it cut shorter and shorter until the "helmet-hair" stop showing up. Now it's pretty rare if I get it and when I do, I know it's time for another cut. Good luck!

Keep my hair short, but I also carry a hat to throw on when I get off the bike. No helmet law in SC so sometimes, if I am going around the block, I will skip the helmet.

I
like
helmet hair, it's an improvement!
Otherwise my hair grows outward like a 'fro and makes my head too big. Helmet keeps it contained.

number 1 guard on the ole "peanut clippers" took about 2 days to get used to........i dont' think I'll go back now.....my goatee is longer than my hair
heck, my 70 yr old mom looked at me the other day and said "i think you should just shave the rest off.....i think you can pull it off"
may just do that.
it's gonna be 102 degrees for three days here this weekend, any hair at all is gonna be soaked after ten minutes on the bike.

Sometimes I'll buzz my head too, but not
too
short... the #4 gate is short enough.
Since I don't wash my helmet much, I figure there should be a layer that both absorbs sweat and gets washed often. Too short a buzz = nappy helmet right on your skin.. kinda like not wearing socks, ewww

Enjoy your helmet hair while you can. Unfortunately, I use the term hair in the singular, not plural. Oh well.
