There are so many ways that could involve a jaw fracture or displacement, not to mention nerve damage. It would be awful if there wasn't any nerve damage, but someone pulling that out in the field could cause it.

My youngest son, when he was a toddler, found a pair of scissors and jumped off the arm of a couch with them in his hand. We heard him crying his hurting cry and found him with the scissors stuck 4" into his head, bleeding a lot. My wife nearly fainted, but I noticed that the scissors had gone in under the scalp but over the scull. We did not pull them out and went to emerg, where he wound up with a single stitch, and a temporary bald spot.
Lucky.
When my mother-in-law saw it she freaked on us and asked what happened. I told her we were trying some brain experiments, and so far they were working out fairly well. Grin

Just a little perspective: my mother in law has always thought that I was not the perfect match for her daughter. She is coming around, though (after 39 years). Now she only gives me sh!t for something every other time she comes over. Grin

My son took a tumble down 3 stairs in his walker before he could walk and I thought I would pass out, but taking care of the kid kicks in and takes over. And hey, take it easy on the MIL, you know all women turn into our mothers as we age LOL
