Just introducing myself
08/01/12 at 08:29:21
I am very new to the forum and have owned my 2005 S40 (white) for 3 moths now. I am VERY glad I found this forum has been so helpful in the short time I have been here. A little trivial info, I haven't owned a bike for 15 years and laid my S40 down the 2nd day I had it, HA. I can laugh cause I was only going 25 around a corner and had a helmet on. Busted up my knees, hands, and got a little road rash, but I'm alive and still movin'. Was wearing a windbreaker (since then I own a Joe Rocket armored jacket), face shield on helmet totally scratched up, glad it wasn't my face. Anyhow I had to replace clutch handle, left peg, left front turn signal, and left bar end cap, not too bad. Saddle bags saved the rear and now the tank has a pretty little dent, but still functional. I feel like I have been rambling on hre, anyhow, ya got any questions just shoot.

Yes babyhog, dents and scars for future stories. LOL @ Lancer and TY.
This is my S40 at the previous owner's house the day I bought it.
This is a month later after rebuilding it from the wreck, also OEM rear turn signal's removed, replaced them with bullet signal's. Removed back rest and bags too, on the way to bobberhood. She's a work in progress like everybodies . . .

I liked the bags, but I guess they dont go in bobberhood. Next step - get rid of that stock muffler!

I love that white color. Nice bike! Glad you didn't get too banged up with your little mishap!

TY Simon, although I am thinking of going matte or flat black and yes babyhog, I really like the BCB drag pipe, then I'll have to re-jet using some of Lancer's very educational posts. I am knew to motorcycle maintenance, but have a work background in apartment maintenance (electrical, AC's, plumbing, and the likes), and currently work as a computer repair technician, not afraid to get in there and learn and I am SO ready. Just from reading the forum, I know this the place to be to learn anything about the Savages/S40's there is to know and the people here are so freakin creative.
