If you have a charger, pull the battery out, charge it up, and put it back in. Check ground connection from the battery to the frame as well.

That could be a lot of things... you'll need to give us some more information.
I know it sounds dumb, but make sure the kill switch is in the run position... that'll get you every time.

YES about the battery... just because the lights come on doesn't mean it has enough juice to turn the engine over... make sure it's fully charged and fully working...

I dunno.. the lights go almost completely out when he hits the starter. The only thing that's going to draw that kind of juice is the starter, or a short.
I still say battery. Take it and get it load tested (if tightening up connections don't help)

Once you put a load on it, a flaky cell or 2 could drop out, and leave you with a battery that doesn't have the voltage to crank over the engine. That's why Serow suggested getting it load tested.
