I'll have to ask who on the family tree was in the war and see if I can find where.

Grandma was a Hamilton in Natchez, born on the Hawthrone plantation.

The Hamilton's were prominent in "Gone with the Wind", are you related to any of them ?   Grin

Trips that last a whole week ---- generally have staggered arrival dates for at least some of the people.

It would be nice to know when folks intend to arrive.   Lancer plans to be there on the 14th and stay the whole time.   MM and Verslagen and Dave haven't said an arrival day yet and I am going to shoot for "center of people mass" as soon as it is known.

We need to stage a full on drag race with Lancer on Rex and Dave on Slim Jim to see which one of the super Savages will rule for 2013.  Both bikes are light enough to be competitive and I have seen both of them run away from me easily.

(hard to judge a comparative speed between the two though)

Both bikes should be out of their break in period by then .....    Cheesy

Drag race? Memphis Motorsports park is a 20-30 minute trip each way from the farm... Have no idea what night has "run what ya brung" time slots though.

Found more feral hog sign in the back 20 acres... I'll go back there this evening and see if I can get a head count, they make a loop circuit through the area, they aren't always on site.

Have a job interview this afternoon, will check when I get home from it and have a chance to load up the heavy duty hand cannon. The .44Spl is a touch light... and the 4" barrel is not as accurate as my 7.5" barrel .45 cap and ball with 50gr equivalent powder loads.

Rex is the reigning "fast bike" but he doesn't actually run but every other trip or so (and he actually isn't really even the same bike when he does run as he is put together from various bits and pieces each time out).

Dave's Slim Jim has some Rexy parts and he does run well, but he was in his break in period and his daddy didn't spank his throttle all the way more than a time or 3 during the last trip.

I want to see them both in real running shape on the same trip .....

It doesn't have to be at the drag strip, just a piece of deserted road at least a mile or so long.    We can put a person at each half mile to report who was in the lead at each point, that way one could lead early on and the other might beat it on the top end.

I am not much of a drag racer! Grin  I am trying really hard not to be a competitive biker......but to be one of the gang and just go with the flow.  Rex has a bigger cam, bigger piston, and a very good mechanic as an owner........I am happy to accept that I will be a close 2nd to Lancer/Rex in a drag race, and that I will be in 3rd place behind OldFellow and MMRanch in the twisties (4th if BigZuk attends).

My bike makes me happy.....and that is all I need to know.

It would be nice to have everything working as it should for a change.
I am hoping the complete change in wiring harness + black boxes will to the trick.
It started and ran at the BRCG so now need to sort out the jetting for the new carb setup.

Dave, we are guaranteeing that both you and Lancer show up with your happy face on and your bikes up and running.

As to whether you could wup Lancer, that's not the point.   I want to see two up and running Frankenbikes at the same time as THAT would be the real record setting event here.

Besides, what do you think the Frog maybe/might be bringing to the party ?????

The fat old green fool on Granny's silver sickle might sneak him in a bit of a spoiler, one can never know about him ..... he's known to do crazy silly things at times and he does keep a spare engine sitting around to do them with ....

 Smiley

..... and now I've got to clean up my freshwater rods, too.     The pond rods, anyway.   That means at least 2-3 depending on what sort of stuff is in the pond in question.   Ultralight, medium and hoggin' freshwater rods & reels .....

I used to take my young daughter fishing (it's been that long since I used the stuff).

Largemouth, channel cats, bluegill, white crappie, common snapping turtles, alligator snapping turtles, grass carp. And something that started out as bait shop minnows and looks kind of like a herring now.

I just use 5-7 foot trout rods unless I'm flyfishing, then I may break out the 9.5' split bamboo or the 15' carbon/glass.

Best bet is a couple training grenades...  they don't bite on anything but worms, crickets, minnows, salmon eggs or cheese flavored glitter coated marshmallows (trout bait, left over from when I was in WA).

Frog gigs and spear gun darts. And a ginormous trawl net... And a couple hand crank telephones.

Oh, and a couple associates who are big time into blowing stuff up.

Sounds like we won't be needing the local fishing license, we will be needing a demolition license instead .....

Grin

I bet I can get more & bigger dominant bull frogs to leap out to maul/attack my special double hooked gimpy frog bait than you can get using a frog gig .....

Probably, seeing as I never go frog gigging. Easier to go to the Chinese buffets, they normally have them at supper time.  Grin
