Your system looks great Gyrobob. I'm always looking for well planned ideas. Is there any chance that too much vacuum on the breather might occur if your filter begins to restrict flow (clog). I know it is normally vented into the air intake but upstream from the carb. Does this make any difference?

That K&N filter is advertised as being a very low restriction filter, so I would imagine it would have to be so clogged it would cause the motor to run pretty pukey before it started to suck too hard on the crankcase vent tube.
In this installation, it IS upstream of the carb.
PCV systems (which the LS650 stock or RYCA modified does not have) would vent crankcase fumes either to the intake manifold (downstream of the carb) or inside the air filter (upstream of the carb) depending on the relative pressures of the intake manifold vs the air filter housing. This system is not that complicated All it does is to get most of the crankcase fumes to generally head into the carb intake. This makes it legal around here, and actually does help the environment a millionth of a percent.

Venting the crankcase fumes to the upstream side of the carb is cheaper, legal, cleaner, and more efficient.
