got on my bike this morning and got nothing from the pushing of the starter button. battery seems ok, headlight is bright I mean. Clutch is engaging properly. So I was wiggling the wires coming from the little black box under the clutch handle and there was a click. noticeable. and it fired right up. so my question is does the switch under the handle need replacing or can I just bypass it or what?

No big deal since we all used to be like that a few years ago. You just have to pay attention. And seeing as how you ride a bike you need to do that anyway.
