RIP Dan Inouye...

Here's a man of a bit more consequence...

Senator Daniel Ken "Dan" Inouye ... (September 7, 1924 – December 17, 2012)
The second longest serving senator in US history...
... a veteran that fought in WWII,... enlisted after witnessing Pearl Harbor as a med volunteer...
Served as a Captain,... took a bullet to the gut, had his arm torn off, and still managed to pull a grenade from his blown up arm and throw it with the other.. to save his men... fought 'till he collapsed from lack of blood...

It was quite a plus for viewers when Ken Burns included a narrative profile of him in his WWII documentary for PBS, "The War."

Patriot, Soldier, Hero, Public Servant.

Rest Well, Senator Inouye. Well Done.

that's kinda an unnecessary shot at a man just passed. But then, Star said he was thrilled Andrew Breitart's 4 kids would be fatherless so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I've got no problem with Inouye.

Web,.. I would hope that's because you can see that Dan Inouye proved that he would give life and limb for principal and honor... and surpassed anything anyone would expect from any man...
That's what a medal of honour is about...
... and he didn't rest on his laurels for the next half century of his life...

Now,.. what did Bork do?... that didn't serve him?...

The two are not comparable...
...and don't even pretend that they are...
And,... it's you that chose to give tribute to Bork, when Inouye died that same week...

I wouldn't have brought it up,... because old men die every day... and that kind of tribute is not common to do in this forum...
... but... you bringing up Bork... is a virtual insult to a man that gave so much...
In circumspect,... I regret that I didn't beat you to the punch,... in the case of Inouye... I should have...
I let myself down, again...

I see in some men,... a strength, I know I don't have,...
...and even though I try to be the best I can... ... I'm not that...
... but at least I see it...

I knew Inouye as a long standing Senator, and hero, for years... but, the story of the details of his courage, was new to me upon his passing...
The vision of him fighting on, after seeing his arm on the ground, is an  unfathomable degree of bravery to me...

Are you going to sit there with a straight face and try to tell me your admiration for Inouye is not predicated completely by the fact he’s got a D in front of his name? I certainly hope when Bob Dole passes you’ll be the first to sing his praises equally when he passes.

Robert Bork did many things for this nation, certainly more than you or I have done or will do. To insinuate he thought of himself first at all times as some kind of sick contrast to Inouye is downright pathetic. Show me one politician who isn’t a narcissist; Inouye include.

I said I’ve got no problem with Inouye. He was a gentlemen whose view of the world I disagree with. You or the other hand would have Bork tarred and feathered. Another typical display of liberal tolerance.

Bork loved his country and didn't let the way he was treated ruin his life though I expect Kennedy and Biden surely wanted him to suffer. Below are a couple of quotes from those who knew him. I don't give a flying f*** what you think about Bork Sew. He had great friends and live a great American life.

I once had the great pleasure to meet Robert Bork and his wife. He told me about his astonishment as he got closer and closer to the top of the US legal establishment to discover that so much of the legal thinking there was explicitly politicised: "It's as if you wanted all your life to be a top astronomer, only to find that many of the top astronomers in fact practise astrology".

One night at dinner, during my troubles with Canada’s “human rights” commissions, I said that it had changed how I felt about my country. Bob chuckled and said he didn’t think that was a good idea. He was treated disgracefully by the most eminent persons in the land – okay, make that the most “eminent” – (Ted Kennedy, Joe Biden, Arlen Specter, Bob Packwood, a veritable pantheon of eminences), and after such a perverse tribute to the corrupt dysfunction of American civic discourse it would surely have been easy to have been consumed by bitterness. But he wasn’t. He liked good spirits and good music, and lived well. On one NR cruise, in the cocktail lounge in the wee small hours, the pianist asked those of us who were closing out the bar if there were any number we’d like him to play as his last song. Bob piped up with “Bye Bye, Blackbird” and sat there contentedly as softly we all sang along:
Pack up all my care and woe
There I go
Singing low…

"Star said he was thrilled Andrew Breitart's 4 kids would be fatherless."Web

WHAT??? I said that I was thrilled that someone's kids would be fatherless???

You are a pathologically lying horse's-ass POS.

I read where you said you teach "Sunday School" Grin ...another lie, you are the antithesis of everything Jesus ever said, did, or stood for. If I had children I wouldn't let them within ten miles of you. Ever!

You elicit loathing and disgust in me, and I'm sure in 90% of anyone who ever had the misfortune to cross paths with you.

The time will come when it will disgust you to look in the mirror.
