A gunman set a trap and shot and killed two firefighters responding to an early morning blaze in Webster, N.Y. Two other first responders were serious condition, police officials said.

WTH is wrong with Idiots like this ... did he set the buildings on fire too ?
I hope they never mention his name, just say suspect, disturbed medicated gunman etc etc, and never say a name.
I also hope they bury him in an unmarked grave or in a grave identified by a convict number or cremate him and fertilize the cemetery with the ashes.

It will be a good lesson to other whacko's who will know if they did somehting like this, no one will ever know their name. I hope, I hope, I hope.

The gunman was a convicted murderer, 17 year sentence for beating his grandmother to death with a hammer. And yes, he did set the fire. Last report I saw on it he had some relatives missing currently.

And he offed himself. His name is all over the 'net in any story on the incident. He was off his psych meds.

He should have ridden the lightning when he killed his grandmother. Angry

As a lawyer, but one who doesn't do criminal defense work, I think the entire sentencing system is what's out of whack. Why didn't this guy get life without parole for killing the grandmother? I am at a loss to explain.

Yet one of my law school classmates is doing life for shooting his wife when he came home to find another man in bed with her. This guy is paying his debt - maybe the fact that he was a lawyer had something to do with the sentence, as the courts despise lawyers and law enforcement officers who go to the dark side and commit crimes, even crimes of passion. Yet a guy who beats someone to death with a hammer gets only 17 years? Gimme a break.

Again, it's bad or mentally ill people who need to be controlled, not the weapon of choice.
