The performance boost is slight,until you add the other modifications. But the sound is much sweeter....it really lets the "thumper" come through! And just getting rid of that fat,ugly stock exhaust is worth the time and $$ !

The long emgo I bought from Ryca last year is already starting to burn out and getting louder by the day it seems like, not to mention the chrome plating on it was extremely cheap and is flaking in spots. Try that on other aftermarket mufflers and you'll be sorry).... ...

There's a pair on ebay starting at $0.99 and 4 days left with no offers yet. The buyout is $29.99 and shipping is $25. See if you can find another forum member in your area who wants to split them, or get the pair ans resell the second one, you might even make a few bucks if you get it cheap enough LOL.

There are hundreds of stock mufflers that are laying on shelves out there....just about every Harley owner takes the stock muffler off.

Keep your eyes out,.. and you should be able to find one for $30 or so, shipped... maybe even a pair... (I like to have a spare)...

Also beware of buying some West Coast mufflers as they could have catalytic converters in them if they came from CA. Serow says they run fine - but I accidently bought a set with them inside and didn't want to run them. We also had one fellow post a picure of bluing a the front of the muffler and we could not figure out why.....then Serowbot came up with the reason....they were Catallytic Converter mufflers and they woud get hot in that spot where the catalyst was.

I don't think that the catalytic mufflers are limited to just Calif. Harleys. Mine came from Tennessee.
