Muffler installation help
04/01/13 at 12:52:39
Hey guys i was told at a store that this muffler i had purchased would work. It was only $40 so I took the risk.
I am determined to make it fit.
By making several cuts into the pipe would I be able to bend the pipe to offset it away from the brake arm?
How would I solve the diamater issue on this muffler?
Lastly anyone have an idea on what muffler this is from?
Thanks guys!

It looks to me like you need an adapter built. The best thing to do at this point is go find muffler shop with an understanding and cooperative mechanic. You need an adapter with a 6 degree bend, that can also adapt the size difference between the header and your muffler. You are problably not going to be able to find any stock part that can help you....you need a part built to match up your bike and muffler.

Thats what i thought might have to happen. It was a $40 risk.. i think im just gonna eat the cost and buy proper muffs.
Kinda curious where these muffs are from though
Thanks!

I took my header pipe, and Dyna muffler to a local Muffler shop and they made me an adapter pipe for $20. just measure how long you need the adapter to be in length. Also, add a 5-10 degree bend. It is simple . The harley muff is superior in craftsmanship and durability to any aftermarket muff you will find. Good luck.

What's the size difference?...
With Harley muffs,... I just cut 8 or 10 slits in the muffler neck with a hacksaw,.. then use a heavy clamp to squish it down to the pipe...
You can also add a slice of tin can as a spacer...
See here for tips....
