rear tire fitment (Read 136 times)

nateordie YaBB Newbies Offline impossible is nothing Posts: 37 Gender:	rear tire fitment 04/01/13 at 14:54:54 I have a total stock setup for the rear wheel assembly. The current size of my rear tire is 140/80-15. I need to replace it but I'm noticing that a lot of savage owners are using a 140/90-15 rear tire. I know that the "/#" is the aspect ratio so if I go from the 140/80-15 to a 140/90-15, will I have to get a different rim or no? Thanks for your help.

Posts: 1108 Yantis, TX	Re: rear tire fitment Reply #2 - 04/01/13 at 15:34:32 Only thing you may have todo with the 140/90 is change 1 or 2 of the side rail mount bolts to button head hex key bolts instead of the stock hex head bolts that are on there from the factory. Posts: 628 Mid-Missouri Gender:	Re: rear tire fitment Reply #6 - 04/06/13 at 05:00:10 Some people have to change bolts out and some don't when going to a 140/90 tire. I put a 140/90 Metzler 880 on my 07 and didn't have to change out any of the bolts and that was with factory saddle bag supports. All I can say is try with stock bolts and if they rub, change them out to button head bolts.
