All Americans are going to have to realize that unless there is a civil war guns are forever. I never wanted an assault rifle but when the government told me they didn't want me to have one I went out and bought one LOL. My once nice neighborhood is going downhill it could save a good life someday, mine LOL. Never thought much about conceal and carry but I'm doing that to now. I'm not doing it to kill someone, I do it to keep from getting killed. If I had to pull my concealed carry if it were a rape I'd shoot for the guys crotch. If it were an armed robbery I'd try to blow the guy's knee out. I'm not the least bit interested in killing anyone, (I just believe innocent law abiding people should be protected.)

The law abiding are protected my the cops,So far in the last 150 years none of my family or friends have been shot or robbed.

Cops usually show up a little too late to help ...
However no one breaks in to houses anymore, they know nothing in your house is worth much ... you know in the early 90's people will break into your car to steal your stereo ... now ... nothing, never happens, why ? not cos you have guns ... but cos stereo's are worthless.

Cool.
Srinath.

Cops are report takers and tax collectors, that is pretty much all.

And bat crap is almost completely imported if I recall, from south america. Its called Guano, and for a 100 years we have been buying it from South america. Easy to choke off. Sulphur too, its mined.

It will be so hard to source locally...

I will worry about it when we see large scale mass killings with home made powder and bullets. Long before that happens many many "home chemists" gonna burn their house down. BTW the guys that will do this, will first have to stop cooking meth. So we're just moving sideways there.

There are bat caves - you can get em, just that there are maybe 5-6 in the country, not enough to supply 1 gun store. Like I said, the Mc D Monopoly analogy.

Cool.
Srinath.

They must all be in Texas as I know of three in Houston.  But don't let them facts stop you...

I've only heard of bat caves in texas. I dont hear of em in NC, in India we all grew up in houses with a few bats. I dont think they can live where it gets below freezing.
Let me look it up.
They are in Pennsylvania, I guess they OK with cold.
Anyway getting guano and making powder is not going to be possible for 99.9% - see we are not talking about stopping McVeigh, we can stop the Sandy hook crackpot.

Another smear,, just because you look down on those who would do whatever they needed to do in order to have what is their Right to have is in now way gonna convince me the people who would make their own powder are too stupid to do it & not burn their homes down OR that they are currently engaged in criminal activity. You're an arrogant jerk,,screw you,, You insult ME when you say things like that, because I AM one of those people.I did quite well in chemistry, thank you.,.I scored the highest in the school( Odessa junior college) on the lab mid term. IOW, I aced it. Its a standardized test. Everyone , a few hundred, who was taking that course, regardless of which professor was teaching it, took the same test. Standardized by the science community. Everyone in every school in the state took the same test.
The bats in Austin are part of the tourism. Again, you dont know guano about what youre saying. But, fer Gawds SAKE, dont allow the fact youre ignorant on the subjects & self righteous & poorly informed on the facts get in the way of your forming solid opinions & expressing them constantly. YOure a thrill a minute to read.. almost like reading what the great  mind of Bill the OIl Pro Man has to say.. as if the fact that since no one HE knows personally has ever been mugged or shot, then its obvious the cops are always there to protect you.. Even tho its been brought down thru the courts that the cops dont even have an OBligation to protect you,, If you call them & tell them youre pinned down by a shooter & they come to the scene & sit in the car for 20 minutes while the guy kills you, your widow has no lawsuit,, Go Look it UP.

You do know the crackpot isn't dealing with a full deck right ?
You may be the Genius of savage.com. The Sandy hook Idiot was not.
You may make your own powder and bullets. Like I said, the common psycho does not.

YOu have no idea how smart the guy was. YOu also dont know how much of his insanity was Caused by the very medications he was taking.
They put kids on drugs for A.D.D. for no reason, all the time. The school gets Bonus $$$, or so I hear. Those drugs do things to their developing minds. Havent we seen a correlation YET? The "Problem" just exploded out of the 70's. Its NOT an accident.  It doesnt get this bad on every one of them, obviously, just like not every kid gets autism from the vaccines, but its enough to create a problem & THEN, the Problem THEY created MUST be solved! Ohh & HOW can we Fix It? Why,, more answers from the same group Who brought the problem in the first place.

JOG - really I dont think we'll see a big number of people going to get bat crap from the bat caves, seriously.
We will restrict all the rest of em chemicals too. You only need to make 1 component immensely hard to get to put a stop to the home made production.

If you Google "north carolina bat guano" you sure find a lot of companies willing to remove it.  Does not seem that scares to me.  As to Sandy Hook, he stole his weapons and ammo.  How exactly are you going to stop that?  He could have stolen them from someone else.

I leave my bullets and gun lying around (well not quite - adult reach only) too. But if they cost like 50g for the bullets - I'd install a small safe and put it in there except for 1-2 in the gun. If its street value shoots up cos its replacement value is $100+ per bullet, people will lock em up.

It was stolen cos it was'nt locked up, and that's cos its not worth locking up.

...and we come back to this. The point I've made before.

Prove that the mother didn't have her firearm secured.
You cannot. You cannot prove whether or not Lanza planned ahead and waited for her to remove it from her safe. before he decided to strike. I'd say she took the bullets out of the safe also but here in CT you cannot store ammunition with the firearm.

On the other hand, you could tell me to "prove she didn't secure it" and we'd be right back where we started.

I store and carry my 1911 in the way the 1911 was designed to be done,  fully loaded with one in the pipe, and cocked and locked. with a few spare mags ready to go right next to it.

I also store my mossy 500 the same way, but of course it doesn't have any spare mags so I keep a box of shells fairly near it.

If I choose to carry I never carry chambered.
I take great issue with that in a firearm like my Glock. In my Sig it's a different story because it's a double action however I still never carry chambered.
My home defense weapon, whether I'm in the mood for a rifle or a shotgun, is also never chambered. However I have a clamshell on my Mossberg and a spare mag on my nightstand.

on my 1911 if it wasn't for the grip safety I wouldn't carry cambered, it's also a variant of the series 80 so the firing pin can't even reach the primer even if it's dropped unless the the grip safety is activated as well as the trigger pulled.

2-3 days after the shooting they said there were several gun safes in the house including one in his den and there were several weapons in that. They were secure ... secured by him. Mommy was armed to the teeth too. So a good guy with a gun didn't stop the bad guy with the gun. Why do you think I didn't say we need to lock up all guns in gun safes. Worthless rule.

A $100 a bullet will have made the thing $$$$ to stock with bullets. Especially when you're spraying it into strangers.

Anyway gun control is not the answer, gun safes are not the answer, background checks will cause a lot of conspiracy theorists to alarm and make up stories and well as have true stories. Nothing will stop a guy who needs a gun to get a "job done". Nothing will stop a guy who wants to show a gun and not plan to use it. We can stop a guy who wants to spray 30,000 bullets into a random crowd by making it cost 3 million in cash for that privilege.

Cool.

Someone can steal a gun, but bullets? Naaah.
People get guns into Chicago where theyre outlawed, but bullets? Thatd be impossible.

Its like some part of the brain is just missing,
some things you say are spot on,,
then, you dive into Full On Stupid.
